About Us

Meet Our Founder

CalGamesWanted was created by Cliff Winston with input from a host of High School Coaches, Athletic Directors and Referees.

Cliff coached High School Girls Sports in the Sac-Joaquin Section for over 20 years. Eleven years as a Varsity Head Coach. Took 2 schools to the Sac-Joaquin Section finals, (winning 1). Established 2 AAU programs and coached in 4 AAU National Tournaments. Served as an Assistant coach for Community College for 2 seasons during the COVID pandemic. Retired from the State of California and the US Navy Reserves.

“As a Varsity Head Coach one of my least favorite tasks was creating a non-league schedule. I struggled to find teams to play when my teams were strong and got way too many calls when we were weak. When I got the idea for CalGamesWanted I spoke with other Coaches, Athletic Directors and even some Referees. Well, one idea led to another and now I believe we have developed a comprehensive interactive website where coaches can create a competitive schedule, while tracking all aspects of the scheduling progress.”

Our concept is to list all teams’ available dates in an easy to access format with the information that allows you to request games and enter tournaments by just clicking a mouse.
